Meet your Holistic Functional Nutrition Practitioner!
It all began with a passion for food and nutrition, followed with the yearn to help others
From a young age, I was highly influenced by the generations of women around me. The value of health and nutrition came from my great-grandmother, as she planted the health-nut seed in almost all of the women in the family. At the age of 12 years old, I began to explore my curiosity in regards to the "dangers" of the food industry and how that was influencing people's health on a daily basis. Struggling with my own skin and gut issues growing up, I was consistently finding that conventional medicine was a temporary band aid for any issues I was experiencing. I saw this happen again, again, and again with my friends and family. I knew there had to be a different approach that could be taken to prevent, support, and recover from many health issues a lot of people have experience with today!
Fast forward, I graduated with my BSc in Bio-Psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara (Go Gauchos!). I then continued to pursue my MSc in Nutrition from one of the top Integrative and Holistic Universities in the country, Bastyr University. Bastyr defines themselves to be where "science and nature converge." While conventional medical/nutrition perspectives have their place, the convergence of integrative, scientific-based, holistic nutrition is another perspective I wanted to bring to my patients.
Pursuing my academics and residency with a wide-open mind, I've always found myself going back to pursuing my passion in women's health and nutrition. When I got married and had my own children, my passion for supporting the entire family grew! Which is where you find me today, supporting the entire family from a holistic root cause perspective.
Advancing myself as a nutrition practitioner, I am currently pursuing another credential in Certified Nutrition Specialty (CNS) by the American Nutrition Association (which is the most advanced certification for personalized nutrition practitioners). My goal is to provide my patients with the tools and resources for the best long-term results in their health and wellness journey!
Without God on my side, driving my direction to this path, I would not be here today with the passion and drive that I have to help families with their health & wellness!
A little bit more about me personally: I am an Orange County native where I live with my husband and two children! As a family, we love going to the weekly farmer's markets, spending our days outside whether it's at the beach or going on a nature hike! We're also huge hockey fans, so if we're not spending time outside, then we're probably at an ice rink somewhere! GO DUCKS! (or as my husband likes to say, GO KINGS!)
